Moët & Chandon Rose

Moët et Cie [1], which translates to "Moët & Co.," began with wine merchant Épernay Claude Moët in 1743 [3]. He started sending his wine from Champagne to Paris. His influence grew with the demand for sparkling wine during the reign of King Louis XV. Shortly after its establishment and with the addition of Claude Louis Moët to Moët et Cie, the winery's clientele included nobles and aristocrats. In 1833, the company's name was changed to Moët et Chandon after Pierre-Gabriel Chandon de Briailles, the son-in-law of Remy Moët, joined as a partner with Jean Remy Moët, the grandson of Claude Moët [4]. After the introduction of the idea of vintage Champagne in 1840, Moët created its first vintage in 1842. Their best-selling brand, Brut Impérial, was introduced in the 1860s. Their most famous label, Dom Pérignon, is named after the Benedictine monk mentioned in the legend as the "Father of Champagne." Moët & Chandon merged with Hennessy Cognac in 1971 and with Louis Vuitton in 1987, becoming LVMH (Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy), the world's largest luxury goods group, generating over 16 billion euros in 2004. Moët & Chandon holds a royal warrant as the official Champagne supplier to Queen Elizabeth II. In 2006, Moët et Chandon Brut Impérial released a highly limited edition of its Champagne called "Be Fabulous," a special version of its original bottle adorned with decorative Swarovski crystals, highlighting the elegance of Moët et Chandon.
